In the early 1990s, Silvia Vassão left Brazil to live an adventure: travel to the four corners of the Earth. By the end of that journey, the designer made New York her home. After studying Film Production at NYU and shooting some short films, Silvia fell in love with silk and launched Leafy Natural Couture.
The brand collections reflect the globe-trotter lifestyle of the designer. Clothes that are created for a woman in search of a natural beauty, that travels continents seeking chic and exotic destinations.
Produced by a community of artisans in southern Brazil, the crochet pieces are dyed with natural pigments extracted from yerba mate, eucalyptus fiber, coffee and annatto. The yarn comes from the Brazilian silk valley, where the best silk in the world is produced. All in a handmade and sustainable way.
