Born in 1990 with a small and charming shop in Ipanema, the accessories brand Glorinha Paranaguá is from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Glorinha was a widow of the diplomat Paulo Paranaguá. Together they lived for decades in countries such as Argentina, France, Austria, Spain, Sweden, Morocco, Kuwait, and Venezuela.
The pieces are a constant reminder of Glorinha’s experiences - her taste for fashion accompanied her around the world, especially in Paris, where she made many friends. As a tribute to Brazilian handcrafts, the bags she created are unique and explore traditional materials and techniques of the land. Bamboo, straw, and wood horn are among the materials used in her collections, known for their impeccable finishing. The details of each items are often playful and can come in the form of bananas, pineapples, monkeys, frogs, turtles, and other animals. Brooches, bracelets, and necklaces complete the portfolio.
Naná Paranaguá and Yasmine de Orleans e Bragança, daughter-in-law and granddaughter of Glorinha, are the ones behind the brand nowadays. They work together on preserving its DNA, while keeping an eye on what Is coming next.
